Update: CCTV Operations Policy Review

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the Draft CCTV Operations Policy review.

During the consultation period we received 116 visits to the Join the Conversation website page and 9 survey submissions. Of the survey participants, 8 felt happy or very happy about the Policy, and 1 survey participant felt neutral.

Community feedback on the draft CCTV Policy highlighted:

• strong support for the use of CCTV to enhance safety and protect Council assets, provided that clear privacy safeguards are in place
• the importance of transparent signage, defined retention periods, and strict access controls for footage
• clearer guidance on how footage may be shared with external agencies.

Council Officers are reviewing all feedback received and some changes may be made. The Policy will then be tabled to the Council Meeting on 28 April 2026 for consideration and adoption.
