Activating our town centres in Sutherland, Kirrawee and Miranda

Miranda town centre

Sutherland Shire Council is looking at ways to enhance the Sutherland, Kirrawee and Miranda town centres.

These are key hubs for our community — places where people shop, work, meet friends, and connect with their neighbourhoods. We want to make them even more vibrant, accessible and enjoyable.

To guide future improvements, Council is seeking community input to help inform the development of Public Domain Plans for Sutherland, Kirrawee and Miranda. These plans will outline practical ideas and priorities for how each centre could be improved over time.

We are committed to supporting the success and sustainability of our town centres.

To support this work, we’ve engaged independent research agency Place Score to carry a detailed audit of each centre, including targeted street intercept surveys and an online community survey. While the street surveys will be conducted with a random sample of people in each location, the online survey will be open to all community members.

Your feedback will help Council understand what matters most to the people who live, work, visit or run a business in the area – and ensure our future plans reflect local needs and ideas.
