Why is Council considering these proposals?

The use of council’s tennis courts has declined over the years and the cost of maintenance and repairs for the courts in the future is high. By introducing additional uses under a lease or licence agreement, council will improve its cost base to make improvements at the tennis court sites and be able to offer more recreational and sports options to the community.

How have the proposals been developed?

Council sought Expressions of Interest in April to assess if there is community interest in council’s 11 tennis court sites being better utilised by enabling non tennis users to conduct additional recreation and sport activities on the courts, benefiting a greater number of people in the community
