Sutherland Shire Development Control Plan 2015 - Draft Amendment 5 - ADOPTED

The plans were adopted and in force on the 1st of January 2017.

On 15 April 2019 (PLN009-19), Council endorsed a draft amendment to Sutherland Shire Development Control Plan 2015 (SSDCP2015) for public exhibition. The amendment is to provide controls for boarding houses.

The controls aim to ensure:

  • bulk and scale of developments are compatible with the local character
  • landscape quality is maintained
  • proposals provide adequate communal and private spaces
  • proposals achieve existing privacy and amenity standards.

In addition, draft Guidelines for Plans of Management aim to address community concerns regarding the responsible management of boarding houses.

The draft amendment will be on public exhibition from 8 May until 19 June 2019.

Anyone making a submission is also required to disclose any political donation or gift made to any councillor or council employee. Please be advised that all submissions received in response to the draft amendment will be available as a public record.
