Draft Our Shire Transport 2030 - Release for Community Comment expected May 2015

Following two stakeholder workshops with key Government and Community representatives a draft Integrated Land Use and Transport Strategy "Our Shire Transport 2030" for the Sutherland Shire is being prepared by transport consultants GHD. It is expected that the draft strategy will be made available for community comment and feedback in May.

During the workshops a range of issues were raised and opportunities identified that aim to improve the way we will get around the Sutherland Shire in the next 15 to 20 years. Key themes focused on strengthening urban centres and activity zones, increasing active transport use (cycling and walking), strengthening public transport use and providing more efficient roads and reducing parking congestion. Various potential actions were noted, discussed and evaluated using specific criteria that will be incorporated into the draft strategy.
