Why is Sutherland Shire Council engaging online?

Join the Conversation is one way in which Sutherland Shire Council is engaging with our community and gathering feedback to inform decision making.

Council's Community Engagement Strategy encourages a diverse range of residents and stakeholders to participate in community consultations. Council seeks feedback in a range of ways to ensure everyone in our community can take part - including engaging online, face to face forums, surveys and community meetings.

What are the benefits of Join the Conversation?

Engaging online allows people to provide feedback and a time suitable to them. Some of the other benefits of include:

  • It is a quick, safe and convenient way to have your say on a range of issues and topics.
  • It is a great way to keep up to date with what's happening at Council and contribute your opinion on matters affecting your community.
  • You don't have to attend community meetings at a set place and time, you can contribute at a time that suits you.
  • You can participate via mobile phone, tablets, laptops and desktop computers.

Feedback from the polls and surveys run on the website will be regularly reported and considered by Councillors to inform their decision making on important issues.
