How do we refuse, reduce, reuse and recycle rather than burying our rubbish in landfill?
How will we drive sustainability and manage waste for our future generations?
Have your say, share your thoughts and help shape our 20 Year Waste Strategy.
Waste management is one of the leading challenges faced by communities across Australia and globally. Sutherland Shire Council is developing our 20 Year Resource Recovery & Waste Strategy and seek your feedback and support.
The Waste Strategy is being developed to ensure Council continues to provide cost effective, innovative and sustainable waste management and resource recovery services to our community. The Strategy will also assist Council to progress towards a Circular Economy (A circular economy is one that exchanges the typical cycle of make, use, dispose in favour of as much re-use and recycling as possible). The Strategy will also assist in meeting regional and state commitments relating to long-term waste management and resource recovery.
We will be conducting research through the following means of community engagement:
Telephone Questionnaires (facilitated by IRIS Consultants on behalf of Council)
Online Survey (please complete link below by Monday 14 June 2021)
Focus Group session (register your interest through the online survey)
