Will the existing shade structure remain or be replaced?
The existing shade structure will be considered as part of the proposed design. It will be retained if possible.
Will there be any upgrades to the existing facilities (such as seats, bbq, retaining walls)?
Existing facilities will be considered as part of the proposed design and retained where it is practical to do so. The existing walls contain highly valued artworks which will be highly considered during the design process.
Can the toilets be upgraded or moved closer to the reserve?
The current public toilets are within walking distance from the playground. The toilets service the shopping centre, the ferry wharf and Roger Summers Reserve. The toilets are not included in the playground renewal project.
When will the work start?
Work will start during 2023. We will advise the local community before work starts.
