What is a Masterplan?
A masterplan is a planning document that helps us establish the future vision for the reserve. It assists us to prioritise and coordinate future work and forecast budget allocations. This ensures the reserve meets the needs of the community.
There isn't lighting now at Don Lucas Reserve, will this change how the area is used?
Council is committed to providing consistent service standards across the Sutherland Shire to allow safe use and enjoyment of our open spaces and recreational areas.

When will work start at Don Lucas Reserve?
Work will be prioritised according to the short, medium and long-term goals set out in the draft Masterplan.
Why is the basketball court and fitness equipment work happening first?
The basketball court and fitness equipment improvement work is proceeding as the first stage of work at Don Lucas Reserve. Council consulted with the community between November and December 2020 regarding upgrade to the fitness and sports facilities at Don Lucas Reserve. Feedback we received during this consultation helped shape the design for an improved basketball court and new fitness equipment. This work started in early May and will be completed in August 2022 (weather permitting).
